The Womb of Becoming
In Greek mythology, chaos is not disorder but the “yawning void” from which Gaia and all of creation emerge. This painting reflects that origin space: a womb of comfort, dissolution, and renewal.
Circular forms throughout the work reference cycles of becoming, self-reflection, and rebirth. Some remain unfinished, mirroring the non-linear paths of self-discovery—journeys that pause, fracture, or do not lead to prosperity, yet still shape who we become.
The Womb of Becoming speaks to the gentle death of ego: a soft unravelling that allows identity to loosen and reform. It honours a fertile, liminal space where growth is imperfect, cyclical, and ongoing, and where becoming unfolds in its own time.
